A brief description of the novel, and why it needed to be written.

The story line of the series:

Discovering the technique that could manipulate history, the era of a One Percent began.

  • Manipulations of previous historical events ensured beneficial results for specific families.
  • Financial meltdowns, major recessions, and depressions were created.
  • The families, however, began to fight one another over preferred histories, ultimately resulting in chaos.

Power is prematurely handed to the next generation of the One Percent. Previous generations were aware of the need to remain inconspicuous.
A younger generation exposed to a society of conspicuous consumption goes on a spending spree. Their greed precipitates a feud, and undisciplined use of the technique.
All previous manipulations are discovered and destroyed. The elevated chaos provides opportunity for non-family members. A new history evolves:

  • A new non-industrial society develops.
  • A new medieval period begins in Europe.
  • Columbus never made the trip.
  • Nordic cultures migrate down the northeast Americas.
  • Central America is dominated by the Aztec.
  • The families that made the original modifications to history are being hunted, as they attempt to recover control.

A crew struggles to maintain adherence to the mission’s original goals. Their duties do not, however, include retaining or preserving a history that would create a genocide.

Caught in a new history that did not produce an industrial revolution, they struggle to survive. Soon they learn that some of those they encounter are aware of the changes made to history.

What they have yet to learn is how many players, in this new reality, are aware of the past. Episode One describes some of them, but the circumstances leading to this new reality has placed far more people in the game.

The fight for the definition of reality includes American Indians aware of the past, and prepared to prevent a return.

The original mission crew has, so far, survived. They find themselves in an altered history that has little enthusiasm for their presence.
They continue to survive only as long as they assist in tracking those that funded their mission.

Anyone willing to preserve the new history would not likley be those they are seeking. The situation places anyone reluctant to establish life in the new history suspect.

How did this begin?

Typical of the arrogant, they assume they’re immune to injury, or investigation.

After the most recent financial melt down, I thought the plunderers had escaped once again.

I began by investigating the financial fiascos of the last three-hundred years. I found significant, and repetitive correlations, throughout all of them.

They include the same families. They use the same methods of injury, and always the same game plan.

Concentrating on those I consider responsible, I concluded they weren’t uncommonly intelligent. They were, however, exceedingly vicious.

Their trail, within the USA alone, goes back over two-hundred years. Prior to that, they plagued Europe.

I don’t believe in coincidence.

As I began to write about it, the similarities became clear to me. There was also far more to know.

When I found genuine historical events paralleling the present, I was hooked.

Was I finding the clues to how we came to have an era with a “One Percent”?

Wealth didn’t automatically make them the villains. Something else did.

Since I decided to write about what I have found, I decided to refer to them as Our one percent.

Creation of wealth through industry does not place people in our one percent.

Our One Percent does not require possession, or legal title to extensive financial resources. They only require influence over vast financial resources.

History is replete with individuals that have created disaster for us all, with only the stroke of a pen. Providing our One Percent with financial resources and technological advancements is more than a recipe for disaster. The mental illness inflicting our One Percent includes a severe lack of empathy.

This novel presents how our One Percent discovered a technique to insure their families remained in power over many generations.

John D Rockefeller, for example, was the son of a traveling elixir salesman. John D, however, possessed the insight to become a financial titan.

It is not coincidence that he is also the great grandfather of a member of our One Percent.

The arrogant assume no one exists capable of injuring them.

I believe that they’re wrong about that. I also believe that, until recently, they were right.

The recent conduct of the one percent has awakened their antagonists.

Their antagonists possess all the traits of our One Percent, but with the additional characteristic of the desire for revenge.
